Board of Governors

The overall governance and administration of ̫ӳ is entrusted to the Board of Governors (BG). This means that the Board of Governors makes the financial decisions and regulations deemed necessary to ensure the sound management of the University's assets, in accordance with the educational policy established by the Senate. The Board may create such committees as it deems necessary to exercise its powers. The members of the Board of Governors are appointed by the Board of Governors, an action made possible by a delegation of powers to the BG by the Provincial of the Province of Notre-Dame-du-Cap of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, with the consent of its Council.

On 31 January 2018, the Council of Administration approved the use of “Board of Governors” instead of “Council of Administration” and “Bureau des gouverneurs” instead of “Conseil d’administration,” and this for reasons of use, without modifying official documents such as legislative or other legal documents.

The University is updating the terminology on its website and in its publications to reflect this decision. However, old terminology may still be used, especially in official texts. In such cases, the old terms have the same meaning as the new ones and should be considered equivalent.
